The research carried out in the framework of the INTERREG project ASPECT has yielded its first results: at the EFB conference held in April 2018 in Bad Boll, Germany, representatives of the German SME FILZEK TRIBOTech and of the lubricant producer Zeller&Gmelin have presented the paper “Friction consideration in process design and control with second generation prelubes”. Test results of temperature induced friction increase, carried out in ASPECT, have demonstrated superior performance of second generation lubricants developed at Zeller&Gmelin as compared to state-of-the-art oils commonly used in cold forming processes. Moreover, the new lubricant preserves its properties with temperature variations during production, offering a viable route to stable and robust forming processes.
