ALG-AD has joined forces with a series of EU projects to promote the importance of nutrient recycling.
The project attended the very first European Sustainable Nutrient Initiative event held at the Federation of Enterprises in Brussels in January.
The ESNI event was attended by more than 100 participants, and these comprised researchers, graduate students, enterprises, policy makers as well as industry representatives.
“I gave a three minute presentation on ALG-AD, in which I explained our goals and methods and gave the audience some information on the people who are involved in the project,” said Marcella Fernandes de Souza from Ghent University, who is leading on the project’s third pilot site, based at Oostkamp. “The event was very positive for the project, and we received a lot of interest from a research group who are starting a similar project in collaboration with Brazilian researchers. We look forward to linking in with this group further in the future.”
