The main focus of the workshop will be on introducing forestry and agricultural stakeholders to new technologies for the production of bioenergy from biomass resources and residues. Featuring expert industry speakers, the workshop aims to develop innovation partnerships between producers and industry and bring added-value to the forestry and agricultural sectors. The partnerships developed will consist of groups of attendees interested in specific bioenergy opportunities. The AgriForValor team will facilitate discussion of the next steps in commercialising these opportunities. The workshop will feature technologies like torrefaction, pyrolysis and gasification and will also include a visit to the BioBase4SME Pyrolysis Unit in Thurles (Premier Green Energy).
With the expected introduction of a Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) to commence in 2017, the workshop is the perfect networking platform for those looking for opportunities to turn their side-streams into valuable products. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be served on the day.
