The R20 Austrian World Summit, was held end of June (29/05/19) in Vienna where over 1200 participants from all over the world came to Vienna to call for more climate action for creating a healthy environment for all of us. The event was conducted according to the standards of the Austrian Eco-Label for Green Meetings.
For one of the breakout sessions the call was on “Bioeconomy – Sustainable action to fight climate change” organised by the Republic of Austria.
The BioBase4SME project coordinator Tanja Meyer was one of the invited speakers on The networks perspective on the bioeconomy: connecting bio-based solutions today amongst Mr. Philippe Mengal, BBI JU Executive Director and Ms. Dana Peškovičová, BIOEAST Contact Point Slovakia. She talked about the challenges of changing innovation from research level to market commercialisation within the field of industrial biotechnology. As well as, the projects innovation coupon scheme in order to accelerate the uptake of bio based ideas and the establishment of the BioBase4SME network. In the conclusion Tanja Meyer gave insights into the findings of the NWE Survey and some resulting action points
