The European project Certification-D has been working for 2 years to create a certification that validates products adapted for people with dementia. On June 9 and 10, the actors of this project met in Paris during a meeting organized by SeniorAdom. The objective of this meeting was to meet companies working on products for people with dementia and to organize a working meeting of the project.
On Thursday, June 9, SeniorAdom welcomed the project partners and the invited companies.
Marcus Sauer (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gerontotechnik mbH), responsible for the GGT training, as well as the project manager Daniel Zerweck (Alexian Research Center Krefeld) and Francesca Toso (TU/e Eindhoven) were able to present general information about the certification process to the companies. We also had the chance to welcome Isabelle Pottier representing EEN (Enterprise Europe Network France) to present the network and the resources available for companies to help them innovate, find partners...
(Finally, the evening offered many opportunities for networking, and the day ended with a guided tour through the passages of Paris).
On the second day, the partners had the opportunity to have an internal project meeting which allowed them to exchange again on the deliverables expected for the end of the year. It was also an opportunity to foresee the long-term benefits of the project and to see what organization should be put in place to test the products in the livings labs after the end of the project. Discussions about the economic model of the labs and the price of certification for companies took place.
