Sustainable fibers from orange pulp

Orange Fiber Srl and the Lenzing Group, the leading global producer of wood-based specialty fibers, jointly created the TENCEL™ branded Lyocell fiber made from orange and wood pulp.

Based on the award-winning closed-loop production process also used for the production of the standard TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers, TENCEL™ Limited Edition and Orange Fiber have created a novel cellulosic fiber that will enhance sustainability in the textile and apparel industry.

A patented pulp production process for citrus by-products is being used to produce the first Tencel branded lyocell fiber made from orange and wood pulp. Lenzing AG, Lenzing/Austria, partnered with Orange Fiber Srl, Catania/Italy the company holding the patent.

This novel product reflects both companies’ shared vision to enhance sustainability in the textile and fashion industry. The new Tencel Limited Edition initiative reinvents Tencel branded fibers using unconventional sustainable raw materials.
