The BIC Consortium is proud to present the results of the BIC project, a set of support tools for researchers, technology transfer offices and SMEs for a better and more successful commercialisation of biomarkers inventions. BIC tools conduct and guide the user through the discovery and innovative process, integrating not only technical and clinical task but also commercial and regulatory considerations.

With this final webinar we conclude our webinar series on how to commercialize your biomarker discovery. The series has been very successful with participants attending from all over Europe and as far as from India or Haiti. Attendees ranged from senior researchers and PhD students to managing directors, R&D directors and business development managers of SMEs and large companies.

Valérie Daussin Laurent
Valerie Daussin Laurent is business developer at Idéklinikken, Aalborg University Hospital in Denmark. She has 20 years of experience within innovation, patenting and technology transfer. With a background as legal adviser in Intellectual Property Rights, she assists researchers from the hospital from discovery to the industrial phase. The support includes patenting, fundraising as well as business development and negotiation with the partners. For the last 2 years, she has been project leader for the BIC consortium.
Teppo Laaksonen
Teppo Laaksonen is a Network Manager at HealthTurku cluster, Turku Science Park Ltd. He has 30 years of experience in the diagnostic industry, in large companies and SMEs. His responsibilities included quality systems, regulatory affairs of medical devices, SME funding, development of platform technology, international marketing, sales and cooperation, and has know-how related to IVD markets and trends. In regard to biomarker commercialization he has knowledge on biomarker registration, quality assurance policy, product development, and upscaling of production.
