A good flower strip attracts many beneficial insects, including natural enemies that can control pests in adjacent agricultural crops. We call this useful and free service from nature functional agrobiodiversity or FAB.
We have also started working with this in recent years in the FABulous Farmers project. The borders we sowed with farmers in the Pajottenland and Merode regions were monitored every summer by HOGENT and Biobest. They counted the number of beneficial insects, the pest pressure in the crops and the interaction between them. Now that all those factors have added up, we have a lot of interesting results that we would like to share with you in this webinar. We also like to explain how you can now also monitor yourself as efficiently as possible in your crops.
