To ensure the cargo bikes can be on Aberdeen's streets in time for the one-year validation, Aberdeen City Council put the underlying contracts out to tender.
This is another step in the strategy of Aberdeen to lower the emissions.
With the collaboration in the Interreg project FCCP, the city of Aberdeen addresses challenges of growing e-commerce. With smaller and emission-free FCCPs for delivery within the city, there are no emissions, hardly any noise, and the use of road, bus, and bike lanes reduces congestion in the city. As a result, Aberdeen residents will enjoy the benefits of eCommerce without increasing emissions, noise, and congestion.
