Feedback on September Steering Committee Meeting in Luxembourg!

Working at fostering reuse practices in the construction industry and visiting an impressive industrial site with a steampunk vibe as well as the project « petite maison". This was the program of the last FCRBE Partners meeting in Luxembourg in September. 

The meeting took place in the premises of the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), one of the new partners who joined the initial FCRBE  consortium for this second two-year phase, together with the University of Delft and the City of Utrecht.

During this meeting the partners have visited the exceptional renovation of the “Hauts Fournaux” of Belval. Up to 40 metres high, this piece of Luxembourg's heritage with its amazing architecture is a real journey into the past.

Today, this unique site is also very much adapting to the present , hosting services compagnies, shops, scientific institutions, leisure facilities, university, cultural, & sports buildings.

The objective of this meeting was to work together and share expertise on the various FCRBE deliverables:

• The creation of field-oriented reuse guides for different trades
• The analysis of case studies when it come to insure projects with reclaimed materials 
• The development of a method to set and measure reuse objectives in construction projects, with pilot tests.
• The organisation of transregional field trips in Belgium, the Netherlands and France in 2023.  

These works and deliverables are expected by the end of 2023.

Des travaux pour faire avancer le réemploi dans le secteur accompagnés d'une visite d'un site incontournable à l'ambiance steampunk. Que demander de plus ?

Les partenaires du projet Interreg North West Europe (NWE) FCRBE se sont réunis les 29-30 septembre dernier au Luxembourg pour le 14ème Steering committee. La réunion a eu lieu dans les locaux du Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), un des nouveaux partenaires qui a rejoint FCRBE pour cette deuxième phase de deux ans, avec l'Université de Delft et la Ville d'Utrecht.

Lors de cette réunion les partenaires ont pu visiter la rénovation exceptionnelle des Hauts Fourneaux de Belval. Visitables jusqu'à 40 mètres de haut, cette pièce du patrimoine luxembourgeois à l'architecture étonnante est un réel voyage dans le passé.

Aujourd'hui, ce site unique au look d'antan, héberge une affectation mixte qui intègre services, commerces, institutions scientifiques, bâtiments universitaires, culturels, infrastructures sportives et de loisirs.

L'objectif de cette rencontre était de se concerter sur les différents travaux en cours de FCRBE :

• La création de guides sur le réemploi orientés terrain pour différents métiers de la mise en œuvre
• Une analyse de la place des assurances dans le réemploi
• Le développement d'une méthode pour mettre en place des objectifs de réemploi dans des projets de construction, avec des tests pilotes

Ces travaux et livrables sont attendus pour fin 2023, mais des workshops, study trips et interviews seront organisées dans les prochains mois.
