The 19th GenComm partner meeting is scheduled to be held in Dublin City University on the 24th and 25th of February 2022. This 2- day event is the quarterly meeting of the project partners and incorporates an open session on day 1 where the partners brief the wider associate, auxiliary partners and energy community on their work in developing hydrogen technogies and in accelerating the European journey to net zero.
Day 2 of this event features a workshop session entitled ‘European Funding Opportunities for Hydrogen Projects on the Island of Ireland.’ This is an event jointly hosted with the MaREI HyLIGHT project and will be an opportunity for all to engage with national and international programmes, exploring funding routes for perspective partners and in reaching out to potential international partnerships.
Bart Biebuyck, the Executive Director of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership (the European Partnership for Hydrogen technologies) will speak at next weeks GenComm partner meeting in Dublin City University.
The Clean Hydrogen Partnership is a public private partnership aimed at facilitating the deployment of fuel cells and hydrogen technologies in Europe. Mr Biebuyck will make the keynote address on ‘Clean Hydrogen Partnership’ at the Belfast Met led GenComm project event.
Under Mr Biebuyck’s leadership there has been a strong emphasis on cooperation with cities and regions leading to the creation of the ‘European Hydrogen Valleys Partnership’ with around 40 regions. Dissemination of project results, building technology awareness and enhanced basic research became Barts key focus points.
Additional guest speakers at the funding workshop will include Philip Cheasty, Enterprise Ireland, Horizon Europe National Contact Point, Sarah Davoren, Southern Regional Assembly, Interreg NWE NCP , ,Siobhan Kelly, Department of Transport, Connecting Europe Facility, (CEF), Gerry Clabby, Department of Environment, Communications and Climate, Innovation Funds, NCP, and Professor Brian O Gallachoir, Director of MaREI, the SFI Research Centre on energy, climate and marine.

The GenComm workshops are aimed at informing and building multi technology approaches that will address our need to reduce emissions, deliver energy system innovation and entrepreneurship and provide system resource efficiencies. “
