The H2SHIPS pilot port, Port of Amsterdam, is on course to launch its first hydrogen-powered vessel: Neo Orbis.
Construction of Amsterdam pilot vessel: HS Neo Orbis
The Neo Orbis will replace the port’s current saloon boat and will be used to show clients around the port, Amsterdam city centre and up the North Sea Canal. It will showcase the port’s commitment to the energy transition and demonstrate hydrogen as an emission-free fuel.
Read all about the port mission, the new solid form of hydrogen, sodium borohydride (which is used to store the hydrogen on-board), and the safety advantages of hydrogen compared to fuel oil in the Neo Orbis leaflet (English & Dutch).
