Generating heat represents the biggest energy use in the UK so, to meet our target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% by 2050, we will have to decarbonise nearly all heat generation in buildings. District energy networks have a key role to play in decarbonisation of heating and cooling for new and existing buildings.
This webinar will set out the principles of district energy, provide background to the HeatNet NWE project, explore fourth generation approaches and then focus on two locations in the UK. This webinar is therefore very relevant to public sector staff working in areas such as planning, climate change, policy, engineering, facilities management. It is also a great opportunity for those working in the energy, commercial and construction sectors to gain an insight into heat network.
This webinar is being delivered by the Plymouth and Aberdeen City Councils, as part of the HeatNet NWE project, which is part-funded by the Interreg North-West Europe programme. The speakers will be:
