Presentation of the HECTOR Project during the EUSEW

On Wednesday 19th June 2019, HyER (Hydrogen, Fuel cells and electro-mobility in European Regions) and Transport Scotland co-organised a workshop as part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week.

This workshop discussed initiatives implemented, or being developed, in European cities and regions and facilitated the exchange of best practices to support the uptake of zero emission mobility at the local level.

HyER - HECTOR's dissemination partner - presented the project and shared early conclusions and challenges especially on tendering processes and procurement

During the panel discussion on cross-cutting issues, speakers shared the major barriers they have faced while deploying zero emission vehicles.

Speakers considered approaches undertaken for both light and heavy-duty vehicles, as well as cross-cutting issues including: addressing the skills gap, importance of training, alternative mechanisms to support uptake in public and private fleets, different approaches for connecting and stimulating rural and urban communities, and, how to make the transition to alternative fuels socially fair.
