7th steering committee of the IMAGINE project
The 7th steering committee of the IMAGINE project took place on June 2nd and 3rd, 2022 in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The entire IMAGINE project team was invited by the partner Phood Farm.
As in every project meeting, the finalised and in-progress deliverables were presented by each partner. During this seminar, the emphasis was placed on deliverables around transnational tools as well as on the long-term effects of the project. Indeed, the end of the IMAGINE North-West Europe Interreg project is less than a year away.
Phood Farm, a Social Enterprise incubation model
During this meeting, the Social Enterprise incubation model applied in Eindhoven was presented in detail. Our Dutch partners reviewed the history of the Duurzame Kost project, the difficulties that were experienced following the Covid-19 crisis and the transition towards the creation of Phood farm.
Local partnerships were presented, in particular organisations such as Futuris, which is specialised in integration issues of people with health problems and disabilities, as well as the process of recruiting young people, their daily support and the feedback from field experience.
We also went on field visits. We first went to the urban aquaponics farm where different kinds of salads and micro-vegetables are produced. Then, we saw the mushroom growing rooms within the farm. Finally, we walked to an agricultural production cooperative that was recently set up. Phood farm's objective with this particular area is to create a model to help new entrepreneurs and young NEETs to cultivate different products under the guidance of professionals thanks to the “learning by doing” principle.
