We are very happy to announce you that three new start-ups joined the IT4Anxiety project! Indeed, AARDEX, Psylaris and Spectre have become partners in the project and will benefit from numerous advantages and from a budget from the INTERREG NEW program for their development. Notably, the start-ups will benefit from the project’s spotlight and rich network, from the expertise and experience of the project team, from the testing and validation opportunities with patients, from guidance and advise to consider the impact of their solution in a real health-care setting, etc.
Let us present you the three start-ups:
AARDEX – Data driven adherence feedback enabling digital therapeutics and patient empowerment (Belgium)
AARDEX Group is the world leader in digital applications designed to measure, analyse and manage patient adherence in clinical trials and research settings. The AARDEX solutions is composed of:
Connected Smart packages or devices which timestamp automatically when the patients access the medication without adding any burden
A patient-facing mobile app which monitors and supports patients’ adherence to medications
A web interface that provides healthcare providers with the means to help their patients to manage medication adherence
A cloud platform as the central part of the solution: it includes currently over 70 predefined and validated AARDEX algorithms and existing AI-enabled analysis of medication taking behaviours into account.
Psylaris was founded in 2017 with the mission to reduce waiting lines for mental health problems and for improving therapy. Currently, Psylaris is active in over 20 countries with its mental health solutions, notably with their TEMDR-VR.
EMDR-VR is an autonomous virtual reality trauma therapy. Normally a patient with a trauma (PTDS) needs to go to a therapist and have multiple guided face-to-face session. In between sessions there is no additional treatment and follow-up. With EMDR-VR it is possible that the patient receives additional therapies without the need for a therapist to be present or active. Thanks to this solution, a patient can now benefit from multiple sessions per week without additional therapist hours. Patients can thus be treated more intensively which results in faster results and less face-to-face sessions, decreasing the total costs per treatment while increasing patient’s outcomes.
Today, professionals working in neurology and psychiatry virtually never look at the organ they treat: the brain. The reason is simple: brain imaging methods can’t be used in a daily routine because of their cost, the time they take and the education they require. Treatments and rehabilitation programs need to be tailored to individual brains, not clusters of symptoms.
To address this problem, we developed an accessible brain imaging tool: - Top-grade 18 sensors EEG headset, - 10x to 500x cheaper, - 2 minutes to set up.
And a software that brings the expertise required in the cloud allowing every health professional to use it: - Standard data filtering, - Data interpretation according to more than 60 peer-reviewed articles, - Reports generated in less than 5 minutes.
Spectre brings in the cloud all the brain expertise sitting in the literature to improve cerebral care. - Prevention > scans for brain biomarkers (6 minutes, concussion or diseases), - Evaluation > measures cognitive brain networks (20 minutes), - Rehabilitation > corrects anomalies and/or enhance cognitive brain networks.
