The MegaAWE project continues during the Covid-19 pandemic, Microsoft Teams providing the basis for the 2nd MeagaAWE Platform Meeting on May 19th & 20th 2021. A two day event which saw representatives from project partners give updates on the technical progress of the project. Breakout sessions facilitated discussion topics based on the presentations, this in turn informed meaningful discussion amongst the collaboration partners. A major milestone was also celebrated at the virtual meeting, the granting of planning permission for the test site at Bangor Erris, Co. Mayo. This news was viewed as very positive for the development of airbourne wind energy technology in the West of Ireland and indeed Europe.
