COP26 and Energiesprong, bringing parties together

"Bringing parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and UN Framework Convention on Climate Change”. This was the aim of the COP26 summit where world leaders came together to discuss Climate Change, Climate Targets and Climate Action. The world is holding its breath to see what will happen with the high-level outcomes, statements and declarations made at COP26 and how, and if, the carbon neutral target of 2050 will be reached.

“Bringing parties together” is exactly the core of what the Energiesprong movement stands for. This is demanded by our focus on creating the right market conditions for both demand and supply side, as well as working with regulators to tune policy and regulations, and with financial institutions to organise financial arrangements, to create a viable path to scale. So, it was no surprise to see that the Energiesprong UK pilot in Nottingham was featured at the Built Better Now virtual pavilion at COP26. Read more about this, and the 5 asks of UK government, in this newsletter.

And there is more… PBS Newshour Weekend did a 10-minute item on us for an audience of millions. Energiesprong Lab, our first innovation hackathon for the German market took place and in France ‘Giréø’ was launched.
