During this event, participants had the opportunity to discover the results of the project and the opportunity to meet the project partners to share their ideas and ask questions. This event took place on 2nd and 3rd of February 2022.

02 February 2022 (hybrid)

Location: NEGUNDO – Eurometropolitan e-Campus ,Rue du Progrès, 24, 7503 Froyennes (Tournai).

  • 12:30 – 14:00 - Lunch
  • 14:00 – 15:30 - Presentations
    • Introduction of NWE-REGENERATIS project (SPAQuE);
    • Presentation of the REGENERATIS Methodology for Innovative Circularity to Recover Raw materials from Metallurgical sites while regenerating the polluted areas (REMICCRAM) (SPAQuE and ATRASOL);
    • Presentation of the results of the geophysical multi-method prospection on the project pilot sites and the interest for using it to locate raw materials on polluted sites (University of Liège and BRGM);
    • Evaluation of past metallurgical site soils potential for ecocatalyst synthesis with ryegrass. Applied methods and first results (IXSANE and JUNIA);
    • Scenarios for brownfield redevelopment (JUNIA students).
    • Communication activities (Team2)
  • 15:30 – 16:00 - Coffee break + transport to Centre Terre et Pierre _on your own (Address: Chaussée d'Antoing, 55 B-7500 Tournai, Belgium)
  • 16:00 – 18:00 - Guided tour of the Centre Terre et Pierre facilities and the operation of a treatment loop on metalliferous waste from project pilot sites + transport to NEGUNDO
  • 18:00 – 19:30 - Closing cocktail and networking at NEGUNDO

03 February 2022 (hybrid)

Workshop: Valorisation of past metallurgical sites and deposits: challenges and new perspectives

  • 09:30 – 10:00 - Welcome coffee and registration/ connection to ZOOM
  • 10:00 – 11:30 - Presentations:
    • Introduction, context and round table (SPAQuE & participants);
    • The regulatory framework and contaminated site redevelopment (Eddy WILLE, OVAM);
    • State of the art of Circular Wallonia – a strategy of the Walloon Government (Lisa CHARMART and France LECLERCQ, Public service of Wallonia);
    • Wallonia : waste versus resources, a new deal regarding demolition waste (David LAMY, Tradecowall);
    • Alternative financing models and administrative facilitation for launching material recovery projects from post metallurgical sites and deposits (Stephane VERSTRAETE, Brownfield Academy);
    • The instrument "Brownfield covenants", set up by the Flemish Government (Eddy WILLE, OVAM).
  • 11:30 - 12:00 - Discussions and debate
  • 12:00 – 14:00 - Lunch 

Access description of NEGUNDO - Eurometropolitan e-Campus

By Car:

The Ee-Campus has direct access to highways:

  • to the A17-E403 Tournai-Brugge;
  • to the A16-E42 Tournai-Liège;
  • to the A8-E429 Lille-Brussels.

 

The various infrastructures have numerous parking spaces:

  • 85 places in building 1;
  • 20 in building 2;
  • 60 in building 3;
  • 25 in building 4.

 

In addition, all buildings have direct pedestrian access to the Carestel Froyennes restaurant located on E42.

By public transport:

The TEC 4 bus line (Tournai-Baisieux) serves the Campus directly from Tournai station (located 7 km away). A "MARQUAIN E-Campus" bus stop is located just outside the buildings. Passages are provided several times in the morning, at noon and at the end of the day.
