The OPIN Annual Symposium 2020 will provide an update on OPIN’s goals and the different supports available, a brainstorming session on potential working groups to be funded by OPIN, and a networking opportunity with OPIN members.

The OPIN Annual Symposium 2020 will be in English.

An indicative agenda is provided below:

  • 13:45-14:00 Welcome coffee
  • 14:00-14:30 OPIN Project Introduction
The Symposium will open with an introductory session on OPIN’s aims and objectives, and the different supports available to OPIN members. An overview of OPIN’s activities in 2019 will be provided.
  • 14:30-15:00 CIG Introduction, Challenges and Application Process
The symposium will then move on to a session on Collaborative Innovation Groups (CIGs). CIGs are clusters of SMEs, working with research entities or large companies to solve problems identified as barriers to the offshore energy sector. The CIG application process will be discussed, highlighting the eligibility criteria for groups and how successful applicants will be selected.
  • 15:00-16:00 CIG brainstorming (break-out session)
Based on surveys conducted with OPIN members, examples of CIG challenges that could be tackled under the call will be presented. A break-out session will provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss their specific interest in the challenges highlighted in the previous session. These discussions will be guided by a technical expert from the project and will develop ideas for CIGs that could be formed to tackle these issues.
  • 16:00-16:30 Question and Answers
A Question and Answers session will provide an opportunity for dialogue and consultation between symposiums attendees and the project coordinators on all aspects of the OPIN Project.
  • 16:30-17:00 Future OPIN Workshops and Events
The symposium will close with a session highlighting upcoming workshops and masterclasses
