King's Day takes place on Tuesday 27 April 2021 when His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, Her Majesty Queen Maxima and Their Royal Highnesses the Princess of Orange, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane visit the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.
The GEM Tower is transformed into the GEM Stage and is put to use for the first time on King's Day 2021.
With the addition of a stage and a hydrogen generator, the GEM-Stage will be able to supply 100% green energy to musical acts at festivals and events. The power of the GEM Stage is generated by wind energy from the windmill, solar energy from the panels and solar cells in the coloured cloth. As of today, hydrogen has also been added. This last addition ensures that the GEM Stage can provide enough power under any weather conditions to supply a complete live show with sustainable power.
