On Tuesday, August 6 2019, Simon Gutteridge, RED WoLFproject manager at Wakefield and District Housing (WDH), hosted a delegation of Leeds Beckett University including business development manager Janet Mulcrone and lead partner Giuseppe Colantuono. The meeting took place in WDH headquarters in Castleford, West Yorkshire.
The progress of WDH Pilot was the focus of the discussion. The opportunity of increasing the number of homes part of WDH Pilot was discussed. WDH Pilot will consist of ~20 flats, particularly well suited for the RED WoLF project idea for both size and energy performance in terms of insulation.
Steps to achieve Pilot set up where discussed:
- procurement of the engineering design (already tendered)
- procurement of equipment
- monitoring.
The type of sensors and storage heaters to be installed was discussed.
Regarding the kind of sensors, a convergence was found between what suggested by Sensing Vision in the Nancy meeting from June 24-26, 2019 (organized by University of Lorraine and including Giuseppe Colantuono) and what suggested by Stadtwerke Saarlouis, Germany at the meeting on June 28, 2019 (organized by RED WoLF's Communication Manager Laura Jörg, project manager at ARGE SOLAR, which also included Giuseppe Colantuono).
