The Chair of Transport Systems and Logistics (TuL) at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Center for Logistics and Transport (ZLV) will hold an innovation event on the topic of "Urban Logistics Solutions" on 12.09.2022 from 10:00 to 14:30. The event will take place in presence at the Mercator-Haus on the campus of the University of Duisburg-Essen in Duisburg, Germany. Results of our three projects "SmartPark City Hubs & Virtual Infrastructure" (SPaCiH), "Smart Track 4 Waterway" (ST4W) and "integral World And Local Delivery" (iWALD) will be presented. The individual projects have the following objectives:
SPaCiH thinks combined transport and city logistics together. In the network, goods are to be handled, bundled, produced regionally and services provided. The focus is on the sustainable restructuring of traffic flows through the networking of physical hubs and virtual infrastructure.
ST4W is a European Union funded project initiated by Interreg NWE, whose aim is to increase the attractiveness of transporting goods via waterways compared to the alternative via the road network. ST4W intends to develop management IT solutions for transport by inland waterways in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) approach to provide small stakeholder companies with easier and cheaper access to secure data through a unified data exchange platform.
iWALD (integral World And Local Delivery) addresses the integral system approach of a sustainable and implementable solution to future logistics challenges, which directly increases the competitiveness of logistics companies and indirectly the competitiveness of all companies (through lower logistics costs and more stable logistics chains), but additionally contributes to resource conservation.
In addition to the presentation of the three projects supported by the TuL Chair, there will be other presentations by experts and practitioners on the topic of urban logistics. If you are interested in attending the event, please contact Ms. Elham Naderipour (email: elham.naderipour@uni-due.de).
