RAWFILL project was largely presented during the Sardinia symposium: 4 scientific articles were published and presented during oral sessions: “Innovative landfill characterization the case study of Onoz”, “RAWFILL project - innovative characterization of LFs and smart decision-making”, “Assessment of geophysics as a characterization and monitoring tool in the dynamic landfill management (DLM) context and “Contribution of geophysical methods to the study of old landfills a case study in Onoz”. Moreover 3 posters were made in order to visualize the presented articles.
In addition, on October 1st project partners in collaboration with the Cranfield University (SMART GROUND partner) held a two-sessions workshop entitled “Landfill mining – Myth or Reality towards circular land and resource reuse”. The workshop was a very good opportunity to present the results of RAWFILL and some case studies of landfill mining projects in Europe. The workshop attracted more than 45 enthusiastic participants from Belgium, Italy, France, Hungary, Estonia, China, India, Soudan and Brazil.
They were interested in the deliverables of the project: the ELIF, the DST and the innovative characterization of landfills by using the geophysical prospection multi-method. Participants found the case studies of landfill mining projects very interesting and inspiring.
Finally, the overall atmosphere was very positive and RAWFILL partners received a very good feedback during face-to-face discussions with participants.
