On January 16 and 17 URBCON partners and observing partners met in Ghent to share project achievements and to discuss future plans and collaborations.
The URBCON project focuses on the development of concrete with a high amount of by-products and the application of this sustainable concrete in the urban environment.
The partner meeting on the 16th was held in the building of VOKA, Flanders' Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The partners discussed the progress and achievements in the different work packages and presented the status of the three demo pilots in Ghent, Kamp C and Rotterdam.
On the 17th partners and observing partners went together to the ArcelorMittal site in Ghent for a discussion on circularity in the concrete industry and to examine cooperation possibilities. Afterwards they enjoyed a guided tour around the steel factory.
