Valusect has launched 3 voucher calls these past few months - 2 on insects for food and 1 on insects for feed -, all with the objective of providing help from our expert partners to SMEs to develop their innovative idea, which will participate in improving insect production in North-West Europe.
One of the voucher selected SMEs, Illucens, has recently won a ‘NRW – economy in transition’ prize – organised by Land der Ideen – in the start-up category! The jury recognized Illucens, who produces high quality insect-based feed ingredients from the larvae of the black solider fly, as one of 9 outstanding companies that symbolize the change towards a future-oriented business.
This recognition of this innovative spirit is excellent news, and all Valusect partners rejoice on the success of Illucens (and other voucher SMEs). The last voucher call for Valusect has been closed in April 2022, but we expect these precious collaborations and partnerships to exceed the project’s duration and bring forward the change towards a more sustainable future.
