On the 15th of November, the Advisory Board meeting for the Work package 3 (legal and policy perspectives) came together at Avans. The attendees were Coos Wessels (NL, Cirteq and project leader WP3), Katrien Bijl (NL, Water Authority Vallei & Veluwe), Mark Fletcher (UK, Arup), Marjolein Weemaes (BE, Aquafin) and Raymond Erpelding (LUX, Siach). Wendy Francken (BE, Vlario) and Francesco Fatone (IT, Università Politecnica delle Marche) were able to join in via Skype. Avans was represented by Jappe and Paul.
As the first meeting for the Advisory Board, an important part of the meeting consisted of explaining what the goals for the work package were and how to move forward in completing the State of the Art Report. A presentation from Coos clarified where some of the regulatory hurdles were found in practice and Paul offered a presentation on the applicable legislation on the EU and Dutch level.
The Advisory Board provided us with valuable insights with regard to teaming up with other Interreg and Horizon 2020 projects. Lastly, several Advisory Board members offered to reach out in their network for people that can offer insights in the regulatory framework in several different participating countries to complete the State of the Art Report. The meeting concluded with a tour of the Avans labs given by Guillermo. All in all, the meeting proved to be a success and offered a great platform for fruitful discussion.
