This training is free of charge and is offered in the framework of the INTERREG project ASPECT. Read More
On 15 June 2021, the final event of the INTERREG project ASPECT will mark the end of the project. ASPECT has enabled the prediction and control of temperature-induced effects on friction, thus enhancing the productivity of sheet metal forming processes. Read More
The 23rd International Conference on Material Forming ESAFORM 2020 will take place virtually on 4th-6th May 2020
Dr. Javad Hazrati from University of Twente will coordinate the mini-symposium on “Tribology in Sheet Metal Forming Processes” for the first time at ESAFORM in collaboration with M2i, University of Mondragon and Falex Tribology. The mini-symposium received a great interest with 12 high quality full papers from the leading researchers in sheet metal forming.
During the mini-symposium, researchers from academia and industry will present and discuss new advances in modeling and controlling friction in sheet metal forming and new developments in lubricants and coatings for cold and hot stamping processes.
The mini-symposium will also mark the end of the ASPECT project, funded from INTERREG North-West Europe Programme and coordinated by M2i. Since the project has been extended for a year, due to Covid-19, there will be a separate Final Event in june 2021. Read More

A practical training on “Temperature-induced friction influence in sheet metal forming processes” on 26 March 2019 at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany.
The training is organised within the INTERREG NWE project ASPECT. The ASPECT project will deliver accurate and fast models for the prediction and control of friction increase with temperature during production. During the practical training at Darmstadt, the companies TriboForm and ESI SW Germany will demonstrate state-of-the-art numerical approaches to determine friction in metal forming processes. Dr. Filzek TriboTECH will showcase experimental methods to measure friction, as inputs or validation for the numerical models.
The target group for this training are industry professionals working on sheet metal forming processes, in particular cold forming and multiple strokes per minute. Read More
