Workshop: Revising the German straw bale building guideline (Strohbaurichtlinie)

Straw bale building professionals from all over Germany will gather in a workshop in Berlin 15th of February 2019 in order to revise the German straw bale building guideline. It was established in 2014 and will be updated now. At the time, the draft was set up in workshops attended by benevolent members of the German straw bale building association (FASBA) and the finishing was done by project staff. The objective is to build a professional network in order to develop and promote straw construction in Belgium. The network aims to professionalise the sector. Survey Straw construction and summer comfort (FR)

Context During the hot summer of 2018, the APPROCHE-Paille association launched an investigation with the aim of gaining an insight into summer comfort in isolated straw houses. In total, 30 buildings were studied. The survey included objective questions (temperature measurement) as well as more subjective ones (felt in the home) but just as important in the evaluation of summer comfort.
