Resource & materials efficiency
We want to help North-West Europe grow in a sustainable and resource-efficient way. To achieve this goal, we fund projects to accelerate the transition to a circular economy model, based on the principle of "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle". Apart from the benefits to the environment, this model stimulates eco-innovation and helps creating jobs. We address the most resource-intensive sectors, including the food industry, housing, construction, transports and mobility, etc.
Europe lacks the raw materials to meet its basic needs and so imports them. This growing reliance on imported raw materials poses critical challenges. We need to improve the management of resource stocks, reduce inputs, optimise production processes, management and business methods, improve logistics, change consumption patterns, minimise waste and develop new products and services.
