Construction has begun on the eight new energy-efficient homes in Carlow & Kilkenny that are part of the Interreg North-West Europe Housing 4.0 Energy (H4.0E) project. Read More
The six small-scale model houses designed for Housing 4.0 Energy that are piloted at a former campsite in the municipality of Huldenberg, are complete and rented out to local citizens. The energy consumption and the carbon emissions will be monitored over several seasons using a tool by Enermatics. Read More
This May, the Province of Flemish Brabant and pilot partner, Kamp C, organised a visiting day for the Belgian regional stakeholders, having invited professionals, social housing companies and local authorities. The Belgian regional stakeholders were invited to visit the Housing 4.0 Energy pilot location in Huldenberg, a former campsite where six small-scale pilot houses demonstrate the production of small-scale, modular homes with a low carbon footprint, offered at a lower cost than the current market price. On the 28th of September 2021, the main Flemish partners involved in the design and construction of the Huldenberg pilot homes came together with the Flemish Society for Social Housing to discuss and finetune the conditions and potential for applying the Housing 4.0 Energy concept on a larger scale within the social housing sector. The Open Systems Lab (OSL) team have been developing the digital platform, which aims to make it easier to adapt and replicate affordable, low-carbon housing based on H4.0E pilot models.
